About

The Marlborough Art Society was established to promote and support the visual arts in the Marlborough region of New Zealand. For years, the Society operated out of the Yealands Estate Marlborough Gallery in Blenheim, hosting regular exhibitions featuring local and national artists.

Our History

The Gallery featured two exhibition spaces — the Clearwater Gallery and the Clearskies Gallery — open daily during exhibitions. The Society also ran a studio offering daytime and evening classes in various media, and the venue was available for hire for artistic events and creative ventures.

A New Chapter

As the world of art and design evolves, so does our approach. This digital space allows us to continue sharing our passion for visual arts while exploring new intersections with architecture, interior design, and the creative transformation of living spaces.

We remain committed to the belief that art is not confined to galleries — it lives in the spaces we inhabit, the materials we choose, and the way we shape our environments.

Our Community

The Marlborough Art Society is proud to be part of New Zealand’s vibrant arts community. We are connected to Creative New Zealand, the national arts development agency, and to the wider network of artists represented by the New Zealand Art Guild.

Based in the Marlborough region, we benefit from one of New Zealand’s most inspiring creative landscapes.

Membership

The Marlborough Art Society has always welcomed artists at every level. Whether you are an established professional or someone picking up a brush for the first time, the creative community is open to you.
